Value Delivered
Alan works with Forest’s operations team to ensure consistently high-quality project delivery and total customer satisfaction. His responsibilities include overseeing the company’s project managers to ensure that they are effectively communicating with clients, meeting scheduled deadlines, coordinating with purchasing to obtain necessary materials, completing all appropriate construction documents and submitting accurate bills in a timely way. In addition, he prepares company-wide manpower schedules and projections. He also looks for outdated procedures, administrative bottlenecks and other opportunities to further increase Forest’s efficiency and improve the firm’s ability to meet client needs. And to keep the company’s technical and other support personnel abreast of the latest technologies, products and processes, he coordinates delivery of ongoing company, manufacturer and industry training courses and seminars.
Expertise
Alan has worked in metro New York's electrical industry since 1986. He began with Zwicker Electric as an electrical engineer, moved to Fischbach & Moore as an estimator and, in 1996, joined Forest as a project manager. Before taking his current post, he held senior project director and assistant vice president positions.
During that time, he has played a major role in many of New York City's highest-profile projects, among them: The New York Times' printing facility at College Point, the U.S. Tennis Association's National Tennis Center in Flushing, the Metropolitan Transit Authority's new offices at 2 Broadway, Keyspan Park (home of the Brooklyn Cyclones, the New York Mets' Class A affiliate), Bloomberg LP's new headquarters in Manhattan, and the New York Power Authority's installation of six General Electric LM-6000 gas turbine generators at various locations around the city. Experience like this has made him especially adept at applying his technical expertise to the development of practical solutions. In addition to managing major projects in ways that avoid disruptions and delays, he is an expert in handling project logistics to ensure that the right teams are in the right place at the right time with the right resources.
Licensed in New York as a professional engineer, Alan holds a bachelor's in electrical engineering from the University of Hartford and a master's in electrical engineering from Polytechnic University in Brooklyn.
The Personal Side
Alan and his wife have three children – a girl and two boys. He enjoys spending time with his family, working on home improvement projects, and participating in running and other physical fitness activities.
